HUSSEIN HABASCH
A Rose To The Heart Of
Life
Our madness to draw
Our madness to write
Our madness to give every day,
A rose to the heart of life
Our madness won’t win my love!
Their madness to fight
Their madness to kill
Their madness to aim every day
A bullet to the heart of life
Their madness will win my love!
We will be defeated my love
I know that.
They will conquer my love
You know that.
But regardless we will draw,
write and give every day
A rose to the heart of life.

The Lazy Pupil
They told him
Draw the school
He drew an amusement park.
Draw the teacher
He drew a rose.
Draw the lake
He drew a swan.
Draw Autumn
He drew a green bud.
Draw the sky
He drew his father.
Draw the earth
He drew his mother.
All the time
The lazy pupil
Was drawing his heart.

In Bonn By The Rhine!
in Bonn
The Rhine talks to the ships
The ships talk to the Rhine
And I talk to both of them, about you.
In Bonn
The hours pass
The days pass
The months pass
The years pass
And I always pass toward you.
In Bonn
The trees sway on the Rhine
The clouds rain over the Rhine
Cafes crowded by the Rhine
And I sway with the trees
Waiting for the rain
Sit in Cafes,
And thinking of you.
In Bonn
The life passes
The heart exhausts
The soul ages
And you always remain,
The life’s wave
Medicine for the heart
Elixir for the soul
The Rhine passes
And I always stay, waiting for you.
In Bonn
The lovers walk by the Rhine
The old people hit the ground with their
canes
And the lovely mother fly the kites with
their children
And I am
looking at the lovers
Mimicking the old people’s funny movements
Flirting with the lovely mothers
And waiting for you to come.
On Bonn
The singers try out their throats by the
Rhine
The musicians play their violins
The dancers sway with the music
The dogs wag its tails
And all the time I am humming your name.
In Bonn
By the Rhine
Always waiting for you
Always, always thinking of you.
