Gratitude

O Master,

I bestowed to your serenity

Since you have sown

The seeds of inspiration

Into my blank consciousness

You guided me to the light

You shed the mist of shadows

And showered the rain of wisdom

You took me from my dreams

And put the knowledge of love in my heart

You nourished every fiber of my being

I learned the art of eloquence

From the jasmine at midnight

I found the real in unreal

I heard the unheard

I have been to the holy lands

I met myself at the edge

And we danced together

In divine harmony

I melted like ice on glaciers

Till I dwell deep into the passion of seas

And I behold this world

In the depth of my eyes

A world that brings forth different dimensions

Every direction leads to You

I inhale and exhale your love

Every breath utters your name only.

Devotee

I live in your presence

The moon-filled window of your soul invites stars

Set my mind free and let me dwell into the stream of imaginations

Let me see the holy mounts, sacred hills and visit divine temples

Let my sensation dwell deep into your vision, hearing the music of flowing streams

I find no illusions and confusions in your way

Each molecule of my being chants the divine hymns

Like a Sufi soul on the divine pilgrimage

Thy presence soothes my mind

There is no pain that harass me

I am abide in the sanctuary of enlightenment

Each moment engulfs compassion

And bear the fruits of eternity

I’m purified since I bathed in the sacred waters

Thoughts of your presence had enlightened my mind and heart in essence.

Distinct Flavour Of Pain

The raging river of pain is surging through my veins

Waves of anxieties lap against my enfeebled bones

I can hear the cruddy sounds of my fuming heart

Frozen lips wheezing gasps through shattered lungs

The empty sheet of tears obscures my fading vision

My droughty face is etched in astonishment and fear

And I can feel the power pouring out of my body

The wheel of destiny revolves to cast another flytrap

It shows no mercy and maim my paralyzed soul

I am caught in the snares of this everlasting prison

This rush of emotions streams more life into my being

And makes me lethal to endure this distinct flavour of pain.

MAZHER HUSSAIN ABDUL GHANI from Pakistan, is a Poet, teacher and councilor. He has master degree in English languages and literature from Punjab University of Pakistan. Since 7 years he is utilizing his experience in teaching English as a second language in international schools and private institutions. Currently he is working in Riyadh Saudi Arabia.
