KRYSTYNA
GRYS
The New Beginning
After a
pandemic
we will
feed
new
day-to-day reality
with the
joy of life
Bright
landscapes
will
surround us
We will
rebuild
our
interiors
We will
free our thoughts
from
anxiety
they will
pulsate
like
water in pure
spring
Calm
dreams will come
We will
sit at the tables
smelling
with bread
and love
In our
eyes
there
will shine
all suns
of the
world
Life During Pandemic
Dressed
in patience
I tame
silence
I rewind
my own time
frame by
frame
Wodecki*
from the record
wants to
watch
the world
with me
A
crossword puzzle is waiting
to be
solved
The book
attracts
with
mystery
On the
balcony a cat
is
drinking the sun from a flowerpot
I envy
sparrows
they cut
cleanliness
of clouds
with
their carefree flight
The house
becomes cramped
I count
steps from the room
to the
kitchen
Dream
brings
consolation
I can
walk barefoot
on a
meadow
*Zbigniew Wodecki
(1950-2017) - a very popular Polish singer, musician and composer; one of his
most famous songs was titled “I want to watch the world with you”
Before
For each
bit of luck
I paid
with my suffering
Before
the nail of sorrow
will
close the oak lid of heaven
I count
the balance of life
I glue
together the remains of dreams
Put ointment
to the
frayed wings
Maybe I
manage to fly
over the
edge of the night dream
before
the predatory fingers
will
catch me
