GAYATREE G LAHON

To God

If you are in the sky...look at me
So feeble so helpless you have made me
But still I worship you
Try not to make you prove wrong
They say all your plans are perfect
Then why you need so much time
To tell me whatever you have planned for me was right
But I want to raise a question
Dear God ...do you know the plight of being a human ?
Are we just a sport for you ?
If you are kind to everyone on this planet
Then why the innocents suffer so much
Why so much hatred and malice among humans
If you are the great creator why your creations so ugly
Why the poor cry and the sick die everyday
Still you remain the only hope that lightens the weaker minds
It is the faith that holds the strings attached
And we keep on dragging and pulling life
Until we end up somewhere....

Life

Sometimes heart fails to pick up alphabets
Drowned in a sea of untamed musings
Floating in a world of monochrome magic
Eyes can't differentiate light from darkness
Lips try to sing a tune of melody but remains unheard

Sometimes you fail to understand what is true and what not
Until life knocks you down to have some bitter taste
Whatever appeals to the eyes may be harmful to mind and body
But without a battle fought inside this can't be realised

Sometimes life seems to be caged in dilemmas
A series of unsolved mysteries
A battle without sound and strife
As humans we are to suffer
As we suffer, we learn
Learning that strengthens our steps
Lessons learnt scars earned
But the path no more remains blur...

 Locked Indoors

Locked indoors...
Solitude has lost it's old charm
Silence getting louder on empty streets
The music of speech is hard to find
Where is the rhythm and rhyme !

The air is still but not silent
Telling something to everyone
Be yourself..feel good about yourself
Don't stand apart from your surrounding

Unaware of the chaos that the world is in
Sweet cool breeze sways with the fragrance of spring
Fluttering of leaves, chirping of birds
Humming of bee, dry leaves falling from tree
Everything so dear to me !

Still a sense of ennui prevails
Nothing much to spice up
In a truly felt absence
I yearn for the presence
Of some footsteps...some chatter
Some giggling or some whisper...
