The Lonely Poet

And the night will come
Like a dream to reside
In his mind till the morn
The man keeps aside
All the worries of the day
And a new poet is born

With pen and paper and
Loads of thought in mind
He sits in a creaking chair
By the window and watching
The majestic moon he jots
Down words of love in flair

With smokes rising from
His lips he goes on weaving
Words into wobbly sentences
Amidst struggles to survive
He feels the love of God as
His poems draw smiling faces

Winter Will Stay

And now this winter will stay
For at least one month more
The branches will be laden with
Snow and cool wind will roar

There will be dew in the morn
We will see high walls of mist
It will be time for festivals and
People will enjoy dance and feast

And now the winter will stay
And birds will remain inside
Their nests watching flakes of
White snow falling far and wide

Sitting in their homes in front of
Fire people will beat the cold
Bone cracking wind will bring
A tough time for young and old

I AM A LONELY BOAT

I am in a mood to pen down
A few words about you and me
Now you have left forever
Whatever I would say I am free

And I am like a lonely boat
In the serene heart of a river
Amidst its tides I rise and fall
I struggle to move head and shiver

And I move with the wind
With immense love and care
I watch the moon and stars
I enjoy my journey in their glare

And I have a very pure soul
My heart is large and bare
I have many songs to sing
That with all I am ready to share

And I am like a lonely boat
I have cherished a wish long
Someday I will reach the shore
Even in the storm I have to be strong
